چکیده

Vacuum-deposited CsBr needle plates doped with Eu2+ have been investigated with Q 34 GHz and W 95 GHz band electron paramagnetic resonance in a large temperature interval 4 K: room temperature . At low temperatures 35 K , two Eu-related centers were found with different symmetry tetragonal and orthorhombic , while in earlier studies at room temperature only one center was found with tetragonal symmetry. Possible models for the three defects are investigated, taking into account their temperature behavior, their symmetry, and the atypical values of their zero-field splitting parameters.

An Electron Paramagnetic Resonance Study of Electron-Hole Asymmetry in Charge Ordered Pr1−xCaxMnO3 (x=0.64,0.36)

We present and compare the results of temperature-dependent electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) studies on Pr1−xCaxMnO3 for x = 0.64 which is electron-doped with those on the hole doped x = 0.36 composition. The temperature dependence of the various parameters obtained from the powder and single crystal spectra show significant differences between the two manganites. At room temperature the ‘...

Librational motion of spin-labeled lipids in high-cholesterol containing membranes from echo-detected EPR spectra.

Two-pulse, echo-detected (ED) electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) spectroscopy was used to study the librational motions of spin-labeled lipids in membranes of dipalmitoylphosphatidylcholine + 50 mol % cholesterol. The temperature dependence, over the range 77-240 K, and the dependence on position of spin-labeling in the sn-2 chain (n=5, 7, 10, 12, and 14) of the phospholipid, were characteri...

Electron paramagnetic resonance studies of nitrosyl ferrous heme complexes. Determination of an equilibrium between two conformations.

Ferrous hemeproteins and inorganic heme complexes react with nitric oxide to form six-coordinate paramagnetic complexes. These complexes exhibit strong EPR signals centered near g = 2.0 which are easily observed in frozen solution. We have obtained EPR spectra of the nitrosyl adducts of Fe(II) protoporphyrin IX-imidazole in dimethylsulfoxide and in dimethylformamide, and of myoglobin, cytochrom...

Low temperature EPR spectra of the mesoscopic cluster V15: the role of antisymmetric exchange.

The low temperature EPR spectra of the unique nanometer-scale molecular magnet V(15) are analyzed within the three-spin model preserving trigonal symmetry. The Hamiltonian includes isotropic and antisymmetric (AS) exchange interactions introduced by Dzyaloshinsky (Zh. Eksp. Teor. Fiz. 32, 1547 (1957) [Sov. Phys. JETP 5, 1259 (1957)]) and [Moria Phys. Rev. 120, 91 (1960)]. With the aid of pseudo...

Environmental factors influencing EPR in Mn12-Ac and Fe8Br

A multi-high-frequency (40 /200 GHz) resonant cavity perturbation technique yields distortion-free high-field EPR spectra for oriented single crystal samples of the uniaxial and biaxial spin S /10 single molecule magnets (SMMs) Mn12-Ac and Fe8Br. We examine quantitatively the temperature dependence of the EPR linewidths and line shifts for fixed frequency measurements with an applied magnetic f...
